  • How long does the course take to finish barber school? 42-weeks about 10 months. You must complete 1250 hours required by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering.
  • How can I pay for Barber School? Apply for Financial Aid at StudentAid.Gov for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years. Our school code is 042247, use this code to send your FAFSA to JB’s Hair Design and Barber College.
  • Can I use my Military Benefits to pay for school? Yes. (all benefits documents must be presented to the school for verification)

  • Can I use my Tribal Benefits to pay for School? Yes. All can be applied or partial can be applied to your school account. Check with Financial Aid Director on how your benefits are applied.
  • When can I start class? Classes starts twice a month, when all paperwork has been submitted by the potential student, and the student has completed New Student Orientation, he/she will be given a start date.
  • Will I have to go purchase my own school Uniform/Books/Kit? No. You will be issued a textbook, workbook, and barbering smock on the first day of class. Your barbering kit and supplies will be issued after your second week of school. (All items must be purchased through the school.) You will be required to purchase at least 2-3 pairs of black scrub pants. (This is a mandatory school uniform item that will not be provide by the school.)
  • Do I need to have High School Diploma to go to school? Yes. You must have aHigh School diploma or High School Transcript that has your graduation date listed. You also can have a G.E.D and you must have a valid I.D. and Social Security Card, and also be 16yrs of age or older.
  • Can I pay out of Pocket for my Tuition? Yes. Your financing options must be discussed and approved by this Institution before your first day of class.

  • Do I have to have some type of cutting experience to start school? Absolutely not. We will train you to enter the Barber & Beauty Industry. Students will do Theory lessons and also conduct practical training on the public.
  • Why hasn’t anyone reached out to me from the school since I completed my FAFSA online? The school may not have received your FAFSA information. Double check to see if you submitted it with the right School code: 042247. If you don’t hear from JB’s Hair Design and Barber College after 48 hours, call or email our Financial Aid Director at: James Williams at (405) 601-8700 or Jbshdandbcfad@gmail.com. Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm.
  • Do you have Part-Time Classes or Evening courses? No. We don’t offer part-time classes or evening classes at this time. Our classes begin at 9am-3pm Monday-Friday. We have class 30-hours a week, 6-hours a day which equals full-time. 42-weeks equals completion of 1250 hours.
  • How much money will I receive from Financial Aid if I qualify? Your Financial Award will be discussed with you by the Financial Aid Director.
